It's has been an off and on journey for quite awhile. I took many art classes in high school including a couple of ceramics classes. Once in college, I found myself really struggling with the transition and even though my major was Middle School Math and Science Education - my mom encouraged me to take some art classes for my mental health. I ended up taking one almost every semester throughout college and ended up just 3 hours short of an art minor. A few of those classes were with the medium of clay. Throughout the rest of my 20s after college I dabbled in art projects here and there. But it wasn't until I found myself fostering kids in 2022 that I needed a more consistent art outlet to care for myself and started talking a few pottery wheel classes at the Community Creative Center in Fayetteville, AR and ended up becoming an open studio member where I am able to pay monthly fee to use their facilities. Since then, I haven't stopped and I'm thankful for the opportunity to pursue this artistic endeavor and see where it leads.
